Children's Vision children childrens eye classroom sight

Are their eyes ready for the classroom?

1 in 5 children have an undetected vision problem. With 90% of vision problems preventable or treatable if detected early, it's important for parents to be aware of the signs and symptoms to give their child the best chance of reaching their full potential.

Good vision is important for educational, physical and social development and it is recommended that all children have their eyes tested before starting school.

If you notice any issues with your child's vision such as an eye turn, squinting, excessive blinking or eye rubbing, your child needs to see an optometrist.

Spectacles can help treat vision problems and vision therapy may be appropriate if your child is skipping words or lines when reading, avoids close work or holds the page too close, is rubbing or squinting their eyes or complains of headaches.
